PROJECT: ATMED RESTRAINT SYSTEM (ARS)

The initiative centers around a proprietary solution called the Atmed Restraint System (ARS). The ARS aliows the rescuer-astronaut to maintain a fully stable position next to the patient while performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This ensures an effective transfer of compression force in zero or significantly reduced gravity environments.

ZERO-G ENVIRONMENT

Fully effective in microgravity.

LUNAR-G ENVIRONMENT

Optimided for lunar hypogravity.

CMRS/ARS SYNERGY

Integrates seamlessly with the CMRS, forming an innovative CMRS/ARS solution.

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

The Atmed Space Medicine Initiative is a private enterprise born out of a passion for creating medical solutions dedicated to extreme environments.
Founded in 2026, the initiative carries an ambitious mission to develop medical support systems essential for the safe exploration of deep space (Moon, Mars).

The initiative brings together enthusiasts and experts in space, aviation, diving. hyperbaric, high-altitude, and extreme medicine.

As part of the initiative, the interdisciplinary research and development group Atmed Space Medicine Team – conducts advanced scientific research and tests specialized rescue equipment in simulators, as well as hypogravity and microgravity analogs.

For our research, we utilize the Medical Simulation Center, Neutral Buoyancy Training Pool (NBTP), and Human Training Centrifuge (HTC).

FOUNDER & AUTHOR

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Arkadiusz TRZOS, MD, PhD

Physician, scientist, and expert in emergency medicine and extreme environments. He combines years of military and academic experience with a vision for developing rescue systems tailored to the new era of manned spaceflight He leads the operations of the Atmed Space Medicine Team (ASMT)

HISTORY AND MISSION

HISTORY

Atmed’s research and development work is driven by a simple yet urgent conviction: the dynamic advancement of modern astronautics requires adequate medical backup. The initiative was founded in 2026 with the bold ambition to refine rescue elements necessary for safe deep space exploration (Moon, Mars). The project is the result of five years of research and testing of a new medical (resuscitation) platform conducted in neutral buoyancy and microgravity generated
inside a Human Training Centrifuge.

MISSION

Today. medical assistance in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) is heavily constrained by technical imitations, Deep space missions demand a shift in approach. Qur mission is to prepare innovative structural designs and precise
medical procedures that optimize the efficiency of delivering emergency care in hypogravity (Lunar-G) and microgravity (Zero-G) environments.

CORE PROGRAMS

ATMED SPACE MEDICINE RESEARCH

Deepening our knowledge of the physiology and biomechanics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in hypogravity and microgravity. Conducting laboratory and simulation tests.

ATMED SPACE MEDICINE TRAINING

Enhancing the overall effectiveness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in hypogravity and microgravity environments through crew training, guidelines development, and educational standards.

ATMED SPACE MEDICAL TEAM IN ACTION!

UNDERWATER TESTING OF CMRS/ARS SYSTEMS
Our team – Atmed Space Medical Team – conducts advanced underwater testing of CMRS (Crew Medical Restraint System) and ARS (Astronaut Restraint System) in a neutral buoyancy environment.
